Raven is a symbol of Northwest region Raven is without a doubt the most prominent figure in Northwest Coast cultures. Many stories have been told of his exploits; some showing off his noble qualities and some his not-so-noble ones. One of my favorites tells of Raven conning Crow into throwing a potlatch and then taking credit for it, thus assuring that he would have enough to eat for the coming winter. Crow became a beggar and lost his beautiful singing voice as well. This striking piece shows a Tlingit influence in its design
